LibX 2.0 For MCNY: Searching With LibX

A guide to installing and using the the LibX 2.0 browser add-on, which allows quick search and easy access to MCNY Library resources.

How to Search With The MCNY Tool Bar

Clicking on the MCNY icon in your browser provides you immediate search access to books, e-books,  journal articles, and more, through our online catalog called Summon :

Keyword lets you search for library materials on any subject; but by clicking on the words next to the search box, you can  also search for a specific title, a particular author, or a relevant journal:

Plus, if you want to search a list of the library's journals, or even outside the MCNY Library's resources (in Google Scholar, or the WorldCat catalog of other libraries), you can do that from LibX as well:

And of course, don't hesitate to ask the friendly MCNY librarians for help!

How To Search Using The Right Click Menu

However, the toolbar is not the only way to search using LibX. Right-click on any page with your mouse, and you will see LibX options in that menu as well!

And if you want to search a phrase within an article or a webpage, just highliight it with your mouse and right-click on it:



And you'll immediately be able to search for your phrase in the MCNY catalog, MCNY journals ('Find Full Text'), and Google Scholar.
